Tharmada
Tharmada is a Sinhala word (තර්මාද) meaning "normal," "natural," "usual," or "ordinary." It is frequently used in conversation and writing to describe something that is conforming to expectations or is not unusual. The term encompasses a wide range of situations where something is considered to be in its typical or regular state.
In addition to describing a state of being, "tharmada" can also imply a sense of acceptance or expectation regarding a particular event or behavior. If something is described as "tharmada," it suggests that it is not surprising or unexpected given the circumstances.
The word is widely understood throughout Sri Lanka and is considered part of everyday vocabulary. Its usage spans various contexts, from describing the weather to commenting on someone's behavior. It provides a concise way to express the idea of normalcy or ordinariness in the Sinhala language.
