Donald Macdonald (minister)

Donald Macdonald (born 1845, died 1926) was a Scottish Free Church minister.

Macdonald was born in Kilmuir, Skye. He studied at the Free Church College, Edinburgh, and was ordained in 1878 to the Free Church congregation in Shieldaig, Ross-shire. He served there for a number of years before being translated to the Free Church congregation in Portree, Skye. He remained in Portree until his retirement.

He was a prominent figure in the Free Church of Scotland, known for his preaching and his commitment to the principles of the church. He was a strong advocate for the traditional Gaelic language and culture. He published several sermons and theological works in Gaelic. He was also involved in various charitable and educational initiatives within his community.

His death in 1926 was widely mourned throughout the Highlands.
