Orcustus (album)
Orcustus is a studio album by the Norwegian black metal band Gorgoroth. It was released in 2007 by Regain Records. The album marks a significant departure from Gorgoroth's previous works, exhibiting a more experimental and avant-garde sound. The album features only two members: Infernus on guitars and Tormentor on guitars. The vocals and bass guitar duties were performed by session members. Orcustus is characterized by its dissonant and unorthodox song structures, creating a challenging and often unsettling listening experience. The lyrical themes, as with previous Gorgoroth albums, revolve around Satanism, blasphemy, and darkness. The album received mixed reviews, with some critics praising its originality and others criticizing its lack of cohesion and accessibility.
