David Rubin (activist)
David Rubin is an American-Israeli activist, writer, and political commentator known for his right-wing views and advocacy for the settlement movement in the West Bank. He is the founder and president of Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, an organization that provides assistance to children traumatized by terrorism and war in Israel.
Rubin gained prominence as the mayor of Shiloh, an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, from 1993 to 1999. During his tenure, he was a vocal advocate for expanding settlements and maintaining Israeli control over the disputed territories. He has authored several books and articles expressing his political and religious beliefs, often focusing on themes of Jewish identity, Israeli security, and the perceived threats to Israel.
Rubin's activism has been met with both support and criticism. Supporters view him as a dedicated advocate for Israel's security and a defender of Jewish heritage. Critics often accuse him of promoting policies that obstruct the peace process and contribute to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. His views are generally aligned with those of the Israeli right wing and the settler movement. He continues to be involved in public discourse on Israeli politics and security.
