David Edwards (footballer, born 1974)

David Edwards (born 22 July 1974) is a Welsh former professional footballer who played as a defender.

Edwards began his career at Tranmere Rovers, making his debut in 1993. He spent seven years at Prenton Park, amassing over 150 league appearances. He was known for his versatility, being able to play in central defence, as a full-back, or even in midfield.

In 2000, Edwards moved to Swansea City, where he quickly became a key player. He helped the Swans climb up the Football League, and was a popular figure amongst the supporters. During his time at Swansea, he primarily played as a centre-back, demonstrating his leadership qualities.

After a successful spell with Swansea, Edwards joined Exeter City in 2007. He remained there for two seasons, continuing to contribute with his experience and defensive capabilities.

Edwards concluded his professional playing career in 2009. He has since remained involved in football in a coaching capacity at the youth level.
