Crocodile Hunter (film)
The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course is a 2002 Australian-American adventure comedy film based on the television series The Crocodile Hunter. The film stars Steve Irwin and his wife Terri Irwin, and is directed by John Stainton.
The plot follows Steve and Terri as they unknowingly interfere with a CIA operation to capture a rogue satellite that has crashed in Australia. Believing the satellite's beacon to be a distressed crocodile, Steve is determined to rescue it. Meanwhile, CIA agents are pursuing the Irwins, mistaking them for enemy agents.
The film blends the style of The Crocodile Hunter television show with a fictional narrative, featuring Steve's signature enthusiasm for wildlife and conservation, along with comedic action sequences. While initially presented as a documentary-style film, it quickly shifts into a more conventional adventure film format.
The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course was a box office success, and although it received mixed reviews from critics, it was generally well-received by fans of Steve Irwin and his television show. It is notable for being one of the few theatrical films featuring Steve Irwin before his death in 2006.
