Cregagh

Cregagh is a predominantly residential area in south-east Belfast, Northern Ireland. It is situated on the lower slopes of the Castlereagh Hills and is part of the Castlereagh electoral area.

History: The name Cregagh is derived from the Irish An Chreagaigh, meaning "the rocky place." Historically, the area was largely rural, but experienced significant expansion in the 20th century with the development of housing estates. It became a popular residential location due to its proximity to Belfast city centre and its relatively elevated position offering views over the city.
