Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (TV series)
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers is an American animated adventure comedy television series produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. Created by Tad Stones and Alan Zaslove, it featured the established Disney characters Chip and Dale in a new setting, as the leaders of a detective agency. The series aired 65 episodes over three seasons, from 1989 to 1990, on The Disney Channel as part of The Disney Afternoon programming block.
The show follows Chip and Dale as they form "Rescue Rangers," a detective agency dedicated to solving crimes that are often too small or overlooked by the police. Their team consists of Gadget Hackwrench, a skilled inventor and mechanic; Monterey Jack, a strong and adventurous Australian mouse with an insatiable craving for cheese; and Zipper, a tiny housefly who is Monterey Jack's best friend and serves as the team's muscle and scout.
The Rescue Rangers travel the world, encountering various villains and mysteries, often involving missing persons, stolen artifacts, or environmental threats. Recurring antagonists include Fat Cat and Professor Nimnul. The series is known for its blend of humor, action, and adventure, and its clever use of animation and character designs. Its popularity led to numerous merchandise tie-ins, including comic books, video games, and toys. Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers remains a fondly remembered part of many childhoods and a classic example of Disney's animated television output.
