Central District (Khoy County)

The Central District (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان خوی) is a district (bakhsh) in Khoy County, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 273,509, in 66,274 families. The Central District has two cities: Khoy and Dizajdiz, and four rural districts (dehestan): Dizaj Rural District, Gowharan Rural District, Rahal Rural District, and Firuraq Rural District. It is the most populous district in Khoy County, containing the county's capital, Khoy. The district serves as the administrative and economic heart of the county.
