Catamenia (band)
Catamenia is a Finnish melodic black metal band formed in 1995 in Oulu. Characterized by their early focus on atmospheric, often melancholic melodies alongside harsh vocals, Catamenia has explored themes of darkness, winter, and personal struggles throughout their discography.
The band's lineup has experienced several changes over the years, with guitarist Riku Hopeakoski being the sole constant member since its inception. Other notable past and present members have included vocalists Mika "Mr. Cat" Tönning and Tony Turunen, as well as various drummers, bassists, and keyboardists who have contributed to the band's distinctive sound.
Catamenia's discography consists of numerous full-length albums released through various labels, including Massacre Records.
