Brian Turner (chef)

Brian Turner CBE (born 7 May 1947) is a British celebrity chef, restaurateur, and television personality, best known for his appearances on BBC's Ready Steady Cook and other cooking programmes.

Turner was born in Halifax, West Riding of Yorkshire. He trained at a number of hotels and restaurants before gaining experience in France. He opened his first restaurant, Turner's, in London in 1986. He later opened Brian Turner Mayfair.

Throughout his career, Turner has been a strong advocate for British produce and has played a significant role in popularising British cuisine. He is known for his no-nonsense approach to cooking and his focus on simple, well-prepared dishes.

Turner has written several cookbooks, including Brian Turner's Steakhouse, My Life in Food, and Turner's Kitchen. He has also been a regular contributor to food magazines and newspapers.

He received a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for services to the hospitality industry in 2002.
