Blitz Kids (band)
Blitz Kids were a British rock band formed in Nantwich, Cheshire, England, in 2006. Originally known as Rig Up Explosion, they rebranded as Blitz Kids in 2009. Their music blended elements of post-hardcore, pop punk, and electronic rock.
The band's lineup consisted of Joe James (vocals/guitar), Jono Yates (guitar), Nic Montgomery (bass), and Matt Freer (drums).
Blitz Kids gained attention through online platforms like MySpace and YouTube, building a following with their early demos and self-released material. They released several EPs, including "Decisions" (2010) and "Never Die" (2011), which helped to solidify their fanbase.
In 2014, Blitz Kids released their debut album, "The Good Youth," through Red Bull Records. The album received generally positive reviews, praising its energetic sound and catchy hooks. They toured extensively in support of the album, playing shows across the UK and Europe.
Despite the initial success of "The Good Youth," Blitz Kids announced their breakup in September 2015, citing creative differences and a desire to pursue other musical endeavors. Following the split, the band members pursued various projects, including solo work and involvement in other bands. While relatively short-lived, Blitz Kids left a mark on the UK alternative rock scene with their distinctive sound and energetic live performances.
