Ross (1983 album)
Ross is the self-titled tenth studio album by American singer Diana Ross, released on June 14, 1983, by RCA Records. This album marked a significant shift in Ross's career as it was her first release under a new seven-year, $20 million contract with RCA after more than two decades with Motown Records.
The album's production involved a variety of producers including Gary Katz, Ray Parker Jr., and Daryl Hall and John Oates. While Ross didn't achieve the same level of commercial success as some of her earlier work, it did feature several singles, most notably "Pieces of Ice" and "Up Front."
The album received mixed reviews, with some critics praising Ross's vocals and the album's contemporary sound, while others felt the material was not as strong as her previous hits. The album charted in several countries, reaching the Top 40 in the United States.
