Utah State Route 195 (1947–2007)
Utah State Route 195 (SR-195) was a state highway located in Cache County, Utah, United States. It ran for approximately 10 miles (16 km), primarily along 1000 North, connecting Smithfield with US-91 in Logan.
The route was originally designated in 1947, primarily serving as a local access road. It was a two-lane highway for its entire length. Its purpose was primarily to provide a direct connection between Smithfield and the Logan commercial and business district.
Over time, increased traffic volume and safety concerns led to studies regarding improvements. Ultimately, instead of upgrades, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) determined it was more appropriate to transfer the roadway to local control.
SR-195 was decommissioned in 2007. Responsibility for the road was transferred to Cache County and the cities of Logan and Smithfield. Following the transfer, the former SR-195 was no longer designated as a state highway and signage reflecting the change was implemented. The road continues to serve as a major east-west arterial for local traffic.
