Galaxina

Galaxina is a 1980 American science fiction comedy film directed by William Sachs. It is primarily a parody of science fiction films, most notably Star Wars, and also incorporates elements of other genres such as romance and action.

The film centers on Galaxina (played by Dorothy Stratten), a humanoid robot officer aboard the police cruiser Infinity. Along with her human partner, Sergeant Thor (played by Avery Schreiber), she is tasked with retrieving an alien artifact, the Blue Star, which is being sought by a criminal gang led by Ordena (played by Ruby Larocca). The Blue Star contains an enigmatic being who will grant the holder ultimate power upon awakening.

The plot follows Galaxina and Thor's journey across space as they encounter various eccentric characters and navigate comical situations. Galaxina, despite being a robot, begins to experience human emotions, particularly attraction to Thor, adding a romantic subplot to the narrative. The film is known for its campy humor, low-budget special effects, and Stratten's performance as the titular character. While not a critical success upon its initial release, Galaxina has since gained a cult following due to its unique blend of genres and its status as a B-movie.
