Sheila E. (album)
Sheila E. is the eponymous second studio album by American singer Sheila E., released in 1987 by Paisley Park Records and Warner Bros. Records. The album features a more pop-oriented sound than her debut, The Glamorous Life.
The album spawned several singles, including "Hold Me," "Koo Koo," and "Love on a Blue Train." While not achieving the same commercial success as The Glamorous Life, Sheila E. reached number 28 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 26 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
The album showcases Sheila E.'s versatility as a percussionist, vocalist, and songwriter. It includes contributions from Prince, who co-wrote and produced several tracks. The album's production is characterized by its use of synthesizers, drum machines, and layered vocals, reflecting the popular sound of the late 1980s.
