Brass Sun

Brass Sun is a steampunk-influenced science fiction comic book series created by Ian Edginton and INJ Culbard. It was originally serialized in the British science fiction anthology comic 2000 AD beginning in 2012.

The series tells the story of Wren, a young woman who discovers that the Orrery, a vast clockwork solar system that provides light and warmth to her world, is failing. The different "houses," each a planet-like construct held together by intricate mechanisms, are drifting apart and falling into darkness. Wren, along with allies she gathers along the way, must embark on a perilous journey to reignite the Orrery and save her civilization.

The narrative is characterized by its intricate world-building, blending elements of steampunk technology, clockwork automata, and unique societal structures within each of the Orrery's houses. The Houses themselves are individually themed and present distinct challenges and cultures. The characters face both technological and social obstacles as they traverse the Orrery, encountering various factions and uncovering the secrets behind the Orrery's original creation and its current state of disrepair.

Brass Sun is noted for its distinctive visual style, combining Culbard's signature color palettes and linework with Edginton's imaginative storytelling. The series explores themes of exploration, survival, and the consequences of unchecked technological advancement.
