Roth is a Landkreis (district) in Bavaria, Germany. It is located in the administrative region of Middle Franconia and borders the districts of Nürnberger Land, Neumarkt, Eichstätt, Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen, and the city of Nuremberg.
Geography

History
The district of Roth was formed in 1972 through the merger of the former districts of Roth and Hilpoltstein. During the Middle Ages, the region was part of the Burgraviate of Nuremberg, which later became part of the Principality of Ansbach.
