Bolívar (Santurce)
Bolívar is a neighborhood, or subbarrio, located within Santurce, a barrio of San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is situated in the southern part of Santurce, bordering Hato Rey. Bolívar is primarily a residential area, characterized by a mix of housing types, including single-family homes and apartment buildings. It is known for its proximity to major thoroughfares and commercial areas, providing convenient access to amenities and services in both Santurce and Hato Rey. While not one of the most prominent or heavily visited sections of Santurce, Bolívar contributes to the overall character and residential density of the larger barrio. The neighborhood derives its name, presumably, from Simón Bolívar, a Venezuelan military and political leader who played a key role in Latin American independence movements.
