Andrew Newport (died 1611)

Andrew Newport (died 1611) was an English landowner and Member of Parliament. He was the son of Sir Richard Newport of High Ercall, Shropshire, and Margaret Bromley.

He served as Member of Parliament for Shropshire in 1584, 1586, 1589, 1593, 1597, 1601, 1604, and 1610. His parliamentary service was noted for its regularity and longevity, representing Shropshire through multiple Parliaments across the reigns of Elizabeth I and James I.

He married Jane Leighton, daughter of Sir Edward Leighton of Wattlesborough, and they had several children, including Richard Newport, later created Baron Newport. His marriage connected him to another influential Shropshire family.
