Bogdanovich (town)

Bogdanovich is a town and the administrative center of Bogdanovich Urban Okrug in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, located on the Kunara River (Pyshma's basin), 99 kilometers (61 mi) east of Yekaterinburg.

Founded in 1885 as a settlement serving the Bogdanovich railway station, which itself was named after General Yevgeny Bogdanovich, a prominent Russian railway engineer and one of the proponents of the Trans-Siberian Railway. Town status was granted in 1947.

The town's economy is centered on the production of refractories, particularly fireclay and silica bricks, as well as other industrial activities.
