Matt West (baseball)
Matt West is an American professional baseball pitcher. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
West was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 42nd round of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft out of West Monroe High School. He did not sign and attended Northwestern State University, where he played college baseball. The Rangers drafted him again in the 6th round of the 2010 MLB draft.
He made his major league debut with the Rangers in 2014. He was later traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers and played for them in 2015.
Following his MLB career, West continued to pitch professionally in independent leagues.
West is known for his fastball velocity and has primarily worked as a relief pitcher throughout his career.
