Jestofunk
Jestofunk was an Italian acid jazz and jazz-funk band formed in the early 1990s. The core members included Alessandro Alessandri, Claudio Mozzetti, and Francesco Farias. Their sound was characterized by its blend of live instrumentation, including horns and keyboards, with electronic elements and samples.
The band achieved international recognition for their upbeat, danceable tracks that drew heavily on funk, soul, and jazz traditions. Their music often featured prominent basslines, syncopated rhythms, and soulful vocals. Jestofunk was a key player in the burgeoning acid jazz scene of the era, alongside other prominent groups such as the Brand New Heavies and Incognito.
While the original lineup eventually dissolved, their music continues to be influential in the development of nu-jazz and electronic music genres. Their recordings are still actively sought after by DJs and music enthusiasts interested in the history of acid jazz and funk.
