Billy Bassett (Welsh footballer)

William "Billy" Bassett (born 1903, date of death unknown) was a Welsh professional footballer who played as a full-back.

Bassett's career included spells with Cardiff City, for whom he signed in 1925, and Newport County. He made his debut for Cardiff City against Sheffield Wednesday in November 1925. Bassett was a member of the Cardiff City squad that won the FA Cup in 1927, though he did not play in the final. He did, however, feature in other FA Cup matches for the club. He later joined Newport County, contributing to their Football League campaigns. Details regarding his career beyond Newport County, including any further clubs or retirement, are not widely documented.
