Big Brother (Israeli TV series) season 2
Big Brother (Hebrew: האח הגדול, HaAh HaGadol) is the Israeli version of the international reality television franchise Big Brother. Season 2 aired in 2009 on Keshet Broadcasting.
The season followed a group of strangers, known as housemates, living together in a custom-built house, isolated from the outside world but under constant surveillance via cameras and microphones. To win the grand prize, housemates had to survive periodic evictions, determined by public vote.
Significant elements of the season included challenges designed to test the housemates' physical and mental abilities, and social dynamics within the house, which often led to alliances, rivalries, and romantic relationships. Each week, housemates nominated each other for eviction, and the public then voted to save their favorite housemates. The housemate with the fewest votes was evicted.
Season 2 garnered significant media attention and public interest in Israel, becoming a popular topic of conversation and generating substantial viewership. The season concluded with a live finale, where the public voted for the housemate they wanted to win the grand prize. The winner of Big Brother Israel Season 2 was Eli (Elisha) Igedes.
