Money Creek (Illinois)

Money Creek is a small unincorporated community located in McLean County, Illinois, United States. It is situated approximately 8 miles east of Bloomington-Normal and near the junction of U.S. Route 150 and County Road 2500 East.

The origin of the name "Money Creek" is rumored to stem from an incident involving the discovery of counterfeit money along the creek that runs through the area. However, documented evidence to definitively support this etymology is lacking, and it remains a local legend.

Primarily an agricultural area, Money Creek consists of farmland and scattered residences. There are no significant commercial establishments within the immediate vicinity of the community. Residents typically rely on nearby Bloomington-Normal for employment, shopping, and other services.
