Ben Hunt (footballer)
Ben Hunt (born 5 March 1990) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays as a halfback and hooker for the St. George Illawarra Dragons in the National Rugby League (NRL). He is also the captain of the Dragons.
Hunt previously played for the Brisbane Broncos from 2009 to 2017, where he primarily played as a halfback and hooker. He is an Australian international and has represented Queensland in the State of Origin series.
Hunt's NRL career began with the Broncos, where he developed into a key player. Known for his running game, kicking ability, and defensive efforts, he was a vital component of the Broncos' team that reached the 2015 NRL Grand Final.
In 2018, Hunt joined the St. George Illawarra Dragons on a lucrative contract. He quickly became a leader within the team and has been instrumental in their performances. He was named captain of the Dragons in 2023.
Hunt has represented Australia in international rugby league, including appearances in the Rugby League World Cup.
