National Alliance (Peru)
The National Alliance (Spanish: Alianza Nacional) was a Peruvian political alliance formed in 2000 to support the presidential candidacy of Federico Salas. The alliance was primarily composed of the Avancemos Perú party, led by Salas.
The National Alliance achieved a third-place finish in the 2000 presidential election. Despite not winning the presidency, the alliance secured a representation in the Congress of the Republic. Following the tumultuous events of 2000 and the resignation of Alberto Fujimori, the National Alliance participated in the subsequent political restructuring of Peru. The coalition ultimately dissolved in the aftermath of the 2000 elections and the subsequent political changes, with its constituent parties pursuing independent political paths. Federico Salas subsequently formed a new party, Proyecto País.
