Baseball5

Baseball5 is a street version of baseball and softball played with only hands and a rubber ball. It requires minimal equipment and can be played in virtually any location, making it highly accessible. Baseball5 is governed by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC).

Gameplay:

Two teams of five players compete. The objective is the same as traditional baseball: to score more runs than the opposing team. Players score runs by hitting the ball into fair territory with their hand, running around the bases, and returning to home plate.

Key Differences from Traditional Baseball/Softball:

• No Bats or Gloves: Players use only their hands to hit and field the ball.
• Rubber Ball: A rubber ball is used instead of a baseball or softball.
• Limited Space: The game is designed to be played in smaller spaces, such as parks, playgrounds, and gymnasiums.
• Simplified Rules: The rules are simplified to make the game easier to learn and play.
• Gender Equality: Baseball5 actively promotes gender equality with mixed-gender teams.

World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC):

The WBSC promotes Baseball5 as a way to grow baseball and softball globally, particularly in areas where access to traditional equipment and facilities is limited. The WBSC organizes international Baseball5 competitions, including the Baseball5 World Cup.
