Beedon
Beedon is a village and civil parish in the West Berkshire district of Berkshire, England. It is located approximately 6 miles (10 km) north of Newbury and lies on the Berkshire Downs.
Geography and History
Beedon's terrain is largely chalk downland, part of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Historically, the area was primarily agricultural, with sheep farming being a significant activity. The village's name is believed to derive from the Old English beo dun, meaning "bee hill."
