Barcelona Dragons (ELF)

The Barcelona Dragons are a professional American football team based in Barcelona, Spain, competing in the European League of Football (ELF). The team was originally founded in 1991 as part of the World League of American Football (WLAF), later known as NFL Europe and then NFL Europa. Under the same "Barcelona Dragons" name, they played in that league from 1991 to 2003. They were one of the most successful franchises in NFL Europe history, winning World Bowl V in 1997.

Following the dissolution of NFL Europa in 2007, the Barcelona Dragons name lay dormant until it was revived in 2021 as one of the founding franchises of the newly formed European League of Football. The relaunched Dragons represent a continuation of professional American football in Barcelona, albeit under a new league structure. The current ELF team retains the Dragons' historical branding, including team colors and logo, aiming to recapture the legacy and fanbase established during its NFL Europe tenure. The team plays its home games in Barcelona. The Barcelona Dragons in the ELF compete against other European teams in a structured season culminating in the ELF Championship Game.
