Avi Ran
Avi Ran (born August 25, 1963, died February 11, 1987) was an Israeli football goalkeeper. He is considered one of Israel's greatest goalkeepers of all time.
Ran played for Maccabi Haifa for his entire professional career. He was known for his agility, reflexes, and ability to make crucial saves. He helped Maccabi Haifa win two Israeli championships and one Israel State Cup.
Tragically, Avi Ran died at the age of 23 in a paragliding accident. His death shocked the Israeli football community and the nation. He remains a beloved figure in Israeli football, and Maccabi Haifa has retired his number 1 jersey in his honor. His legacy continues to inspire young Israeli goalkeepers.
