Augsburg-Stadt (electoral district)

Augsburg-Stadt is an electoral district (German: Wahlkreis) in Bavaria, Germany. It is designated as electoral district number 253.

It covers the city of Augsburg. Specifically, it includes the following administrative districts (Stadtbezirke): Antonsviertel, Augsburg-Innenstadt, Göggingen, Haunstetten-Siebenbrunn, Hochzoll, Kriegshaber, Lechhausen, Oberhausen, Pfersee.

Until the 2017 federal election, it was known as Augsburg. In 2017, due to changes in district boundaries, part of the former Augsburg electoral district was allocated to the newly formed electoral district of Augsburg-Land. This resulted in the former Augsburg electoral district being renamed Augsburg-Stadt to clearly distinguish it from the new district.

The directly elected representative (Direktkandidat) of Augsburg-Stadt in the Bundestag has varied over time, reflecting the shifting political landscape of the region.
