Atis Slakteris

Atis Slakteris (born March 27, 1956) is a Latvian politician and economist. He served as the Minister of Finance of Latvia on multiple occasions, notably from 2002 to 2004 and again from 2007 to 2009. During his tenures as Finance Minister, he was a key figure in Latvia's economic policies, particularly during periods of economic growth and the subsequent financial crisis. Slakteris has been a prominent member of various political parties in Latvia throughout his career, including the People's Party (Tautas partija).
