Badin Hall (University of Notre Dame)

Badin Hall is a women's residence hall at the University of Notre Dame. Located on the southwest side of campus, it is named after Father Stephen Badin, the first priest ordained in the United States and who once owned the land upon which the University of Notre Dame now stands.

The hall was originally built in 1897 as a theological seminary, known then as the Moreau Seminary. It served as a residence for priests and seminarians until 1968, when it was converted into a men's undergraduate residence hall. In 1997, it was renovated and converted into a women's residence hall.

Badin Hall is known for its strong sense of community and traditions. Its residents are commonly referred to as the "Belles." The hall's mascot is the penguin. It maintains a strong rivalry with nearby Lyons Hall.
