Ailuk Atoll

Ailuk Atoll is a coral atoll in the Pacific Ocean. It is part of the Ratak Chain of the Marshall Islands. Located approximately 72 kilometers (45 mi) east of Wotje Atoll, Ailuk comprises about 57 islets surrounding a central lagoon. The total land area of Ailuk Atoll is approximately 5.4 square kilometers (2.1 sq mi), while the lagoon encompasses an area of 177.45 square kilometers (68.5 sq mi).

The primary inhabited island is Ailuk Island, located on the atoll's eastern rim. The population of Ailuk Atoll fluctuates, but typically numbers in the hundreds. The local economy is largely based on subsistence farming, fishing, and copra production.

Ailuk Atoll has a tropical climate, characterized by high temperatures and humidity, as well as significant rainfall throughout the year. Typhoons occasionally impact the atoll.
