Olympique Lyonnais (Superleague Formula team)

Olympique Lyonnais participated in the Superleague Formula racing series as the representative football club of Olympique Lyonnais (OL), a French professional football club based in Lyon. Superleague Formula was a motorsport championship that ran from 2008 to 2011, where single-seater open-wheel racing cars were liveried and branded to represent different football clubs.

The Olympique Lyonnais team competed in all seasons of the Superleague Formula series. The team's car was typically branded with the club's colors and logos. Over the years, various drivers represented Olympique Lyonnais, including Nelson Panciatici, Franck Perera, and Tristan Gommendy.

While the team achieved some individual race wins and podium finishes throughout its participation in the series, it did not win the overall Superleague Formula championship. Their best overall season finish was a notable placement within the top half of the standings.

Following the discontinuation of the Superleague Formula series after the 2011 season, the Olympique Lyonnais team ceased to exist. The team served as a marketing extension for the football club, allowing it to reach a wider audience and associate with motorsports.
