Razor-qt

Razor-qt was a lightweight desktop environment for Unix-like operating systems. It aimed to be fast, user-friendly, and customizable, targeting users with older hardware or those seeking a less resource-intensive alternative to heavier desktop environments like KDE Plasma or GNOME.

The project was started by Lubomir Remek and aimed to provide a modern desktop experience while minimizing system resource usage. Razor-qt was built using the Qt framework, known for its cross-platform compatibility and robust feature set. Key components included a panel, desktop, application launcher, and system settings.

Development on Razor-qt ceased in 2013, when the development team decided to merge efforts with the LXDE (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment) team to create LXQt. LXQt represents the continuation and evolution of the ideas behind Razor-qt, combining the lightness of LXDE with the Qt framework. Therefore, Razor-qt is now considered largely obsolete, with LXQt serving as its successor and recommended alternative.
