Bayır Dam
The Bayır Dam is a concrete-face rock-fill dam located on the Göksu River in Mersin Province, Turkey. It is primarily used for irrigation and hydroelectric power generation. Construction on the dam began in 2007 and was completed in 2010. The dam has a height of 114 meters (374 ft) and a crest length of 445 meters (1,460 ft). Its reservoir has a capacity of 248,000,000 cubic meters (8.7 billion cubic feet). The hydroelectric power plant associated with the dam has an installed capacity of 54 MW and generates approximately 150 GWh of electricity per year. The Bayır Dam plays a crucial role in supplying water for agricultural irrigation in the surrounding region, contributing to regional economic development.
