Artpace
Artpace is a non-profit, international artist residency program located in San Antonio, Texas. Founded in 1995 by Linda Pace, the organization's mission is to support artists' freedom to create new work and to foster experimentation and innovation in contemporary art.
Artpace provides residencies to artists from around the world, offering them studio space, financial support, and technical assistance to develop and realize new projects. Each year, three cycles of residencies are held, with three artists participating in each cycle. One residency is awarded to a Texas-based artist, one to a national artist, and one to an international artist.
The residency program culminates in an exhibition showcasing the work created during the residency period. Artpace also offers educational programs, public lectures, and community engagement initiatives that aim to connect artists and the public. Artpace plays a significant role in the San Antonio art scene and contributes to the broader international art community by providing a platform for artists to develop their practice and exhibit their work.
