Arena (Duran Duran album)
Arena is a live album by the British new wave band Duran Duran, released in November 1984. It was recorded during the band's 1984 Sing Blue Silver North American tour in support of their album Seven and the Ragged Tiger.
The album features live performances of many of Duran Duran's biggest hits up to that point, including "Rio," "Hungry Like the Wolf," "Save a Prayer," and "The Reflex." Arena also includes a studio-recorded track, "(I'm Looking For) Cracks in the Pavement," which was released as a single to promote the album.
Arena was a commercial success, reaching number 6 on the US Billboard 200 chart and number 2 in the UK. It was certified double platinum in the United States. The album is notable for its heavily processed and edited sound, a common practice for live albums of the era. Some critics have noted that the album sounds more like a studio re-creation than a true live recording.
The album's cover art is a photograph of the band performing live, with a stylized "Arena" logo. The original vinyl release included a poster. Arena was re-released in 2004 with bonus tracks.
