Andrew Thomson (Australian footballer)
Andrew Thomson is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Thomson was drafted by Geelong with pick 55 in the 2004 AFL Draft. He made his AFL debut in 2005. A key defender, he played a primarily defensive role for the Cats, often tasked with marking dangerous opposition forwards.
During his time at Geelong, Thomson was known for his strong marking ability and reliable defensive play. He was a member of Geelong's 2007 premiership-winning team, playing in the Grand Final against Port Adelaide.
Thomson's AFL career ended in 2010 after he was delisted by Geelong. Following his AFL career, he continued to play football at a local level.
