Meat (EP)

Meat is a 2010 extended play (EP) by the American noise rock band METZ. It was released on We Empty Rooms, a label that existed briefly in Ottawa, Ontario. The EP consists of six tracks, showcasing the band's early raw and abrasive sound. The tracks are characterized by their heavy distortion, aggressive drumming, and shouted vocals, elements that would become defining features of METZ's later work. Meat served as a key release in the band's development and helped them gain recognition within the independent music scene. It pre-dates their signing to Sub Pop Records and the release of their self-titled debut album. The EP is considered a valuable document of METZ's early sound and a precursor to their established discography.
