Jaan Pöör
Jaan Pöör (born July 10, 1884, Tori Parish, Pärnu County, Governorate of Livonia – died March 19, 1942, Sosva, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia) was an Estonian politician and military figure.
Pöör served in the Estonian War of Independence and was later a member of the Estonian Constituent Assembly (Asutav Kogu) and the Riigikogu (Estonian Parliament). He was a member of the Estonian Labour Party (Eesti Tööerakond).
He held various positions in the Estonian government, including Minister of Agriculture. His political activities focused on agricultural policy and land reform.
Following the Soviet occupation of Estonia in 1940, Pöör was arrested by the NKVD. He was deported to Siberia and died in a Soviet prison camp in 1942.
