Andrew Lord (artist)
Andrew Lord (born 1950 in Rochdale, Lancashire, England) is a British sculptor known for his distinctive ceramic works. He studied at the Bath Academy of Art and the Central School of Art and Design, London. Lord's sculptures often feature abstract, biomorphic forms, and he is recognized for his innovative use of materials and surface treatments. He often employs industrial processes and materials, such as slip-casting, to create his pieces, which are then hand-finished with glazes and other techniques.
Lord's work explores themes of form, space, and materiality. He has exhibited extensively internationally, and his work is included in numerous public and private collections. He is often associated with a generation of British sculptors who revitalized ceramic art in the late 20th century.
