Maktorion
A maktórion (Ancient Greek: μακτόριον) was a type of kneading-trough or kneading table used in ancient Greece, primarily for preparing dough for bread or other baked goods. These troughs were typically made of wood or stone. While the exact form varied, they were generally shallow, rectangular vessels, large enough to accommodate the kneading process. Evidence for maktória comes from archaeological finds, depictions in artwork, and textual references in ancient literature. The presence of a maktórion implies a certain level of domestic organization and food preparation expertise.
