Neville Maxwell (rower)

Neville Maxwell (born 1930, died 2023) was a New Zealand rower who represented his country at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne. He competed in the Coxless Four event, where the New Zealand team finished fourth. Maxwell, along with teammates Donald Page, Peter Jones and Ray Laurent, narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing behind Canada. Beyond his Olympic appearance, Maxwell contributed significantly to rowing in New Zealand at a regional and club level after his competitive career concluded. He was a long-time member of the West End Rowing Club in New Plymouth and served in various administrative roles.
