Andrew Griffiths (politician)
Andrew Griffiths (born 1970) is a British Conservative Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Burton since 2010.
Griffiths was educated at Painsley Catholic College, Cheadle, and later Staffordshire University where he read Business Studies. Before entering parliament, he worked in business, primarily in marketing and public relations.
Griffiths was first elected to Parliament in the 2010 general election, succeeding Janet Dean as the MP for Burton. He has served on various select committees during his time in parliament.
In 2018, Griffiths resigned as Small Business Minister following allegations of sending sexually explicit text messages to two women. He was subsequently investigated by parliamentary authorities. In 2019, he was cleared of breaking the MPs' code of conduct.
He retained his seat in the 2019 general election. He currently sits as a backbench MP.
