Andraemon

Andraemon was a figure in Greek mythology. He was the son of Oxylus and Heracleia, and thus a descendant of Heracles. Andraemon is primarily known as the founder and eponym of the city of Ambracia in Epirus. He led colonists from Etolia to the region and established the city, which became an important center in ancient Greece. He is typically associated with the establishment of Ambracia's political and social institutions. Some accounts also link him to the founding of other settlements in the surrounding area. His story is interwoven with the larger narratives of the Heracleidae and the colonization movements of the early Greek period. He is sometimes mentioned in genealogies tracing the lineage of prominent families or figures associated with Ambracia.
