Decadent (Decadent album)

Decadent is the fourth full-length studio album by the Polish death metal band Decapitated. It was released on March 8, 2006, through Earache Records.

The album features a more groove-oriented and technically focused approach compared to their previous works. While retaining elements of brutal death metal, Decadent incorporates more rhythmic variations and intricate guitar work.

Lyrically, the album explores themes of corruption, societal decay, and moral degradation, mirroring the concept implied by the album title.

Decadent was the last Decapitated album to feature the original lineup including Vitek (drums) and Sauron (vocals), before their tragic accident in 2007. Its release was followed by touring and critical acclaim, further solidifying Decapitated's position within the death metal scene. It is often cited as a pivotal album in the band's discography, marking a shift in their musical direction while maintaining their signature intensity.
